Award Presentation and Cocktail Party
Christopher Guy will host a private award presentation and cocktail reception sponsored by Architectural Digest at the Christopher Guy Beverly Hills showroom on Thursday evening, May 5. The winner and runner up of the Christopher Guy BritWeek Design Award competition will be announced at this gathering. Guests will include prominent interior design professionals in the Los Angeles area, BritWeek organization and their guests, design teachers and the winners of the competition.
The Design Challenge
The design challenge is to create any lifestyle setting or furniture piece for the Christopher Guy brand to include in its upcoming Mademoiselle collection which will be launched in January 2012. The Christopher Guy Mademoiselle line will be based on an interpretation of Coco Chanel’s home and the furniture pieces she would have, were she alive today.
The first place winner of the Christopher Guy-BritWeek Design Award will receive a one month internship, including accommodation and airfare, at the Christopher Guy corporate headquarters in Singapore. During this month, the winner will have a chance to work one-on-one with head designer Christopher Guy and others as they develop and launch their new collection later in the year. Full employment at the end of the internship will be considered in either Singapore or in the US corporate offices and showrooms. Dates of internship will be determined with the winner and Christopher Guy offices.
The runner-up of the Christopher Guy-BritWeek Design Award competition will receive a one week, all expenses paid internship during the Maison et Objet exhibition in Paris in January 2012. The Maison et Objet is the leading international furniture market for global brands and Christopher Guy regularly displays its newest furnishings during this show. Each year, a full display (including several rooms, full décor and furniture pieces) is set up to welcome guests of the exhibition to admire the Christopher Guy presentation. More information on this Paris exhibition can be found at www.maison-objet.com.
