What is BritWeek?

BritWeek is a celebration of all things British in California, highlighting the amazing depth and breadth of British connections here. The Brits are the biggest foreign investors in the state, and they make their mark in every aspect of life and culture.

How and when did BritWeek start?

BritWeek is the brainchild of renowned producer Nigel Lythgoe, who in 2007 approached then British Consul General Bob Peirce with the idea for an event that would showcase the rich connections between Britain and Southern California. From humble beginnings, BritWeek rapidly expanded in scope to become a springtime fixture on the Los Angeles calendar, and within two seasons evolved into a landmark festival celebrated around the state.

Where does BritWeek take place?

BritWeek events in 2007, 2008 and 2009 took place at numerous venues throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. In 2010 and 2011, events were held across Southern California and in San Francisco as well.

Can my event be part of BritWeek?

Are you are organizing an event with a British connection? If it coincides with BritWeek (which takes place annually in late April and early May), please contact us to discuss whether it can be incorporated into our program. Be it a British classic car rally, an art exhibit or a concert, we welcome your suggestions.

Can my event be on your calendar even if it falls outside of BritWeek?

Please get in touch! Even if your event does not take place during BritWeek, if appropriate we may be able to notify friends of BritWeek on your behalf.

How can I get involved with BritWeek?

If you would like to co-brand your event with BritWeek; organize, sponsor or help find sponsorship for an event; or volunteer to help with the delivery of the BritWeek program, we would be delighted to hear from you. Drop us a line at britweek@britweek.org.

How can I attend BritWeek events?

There are dozens of events during BritWeek, some of which are by invitation only and others that are open to the public. Some events require tickets and others are free to attend. Our website and calendar will have complete information. You can also sign up for our newsletter, which will keep you 'posted' as information becomes available.
